Your Opportunity
The DFV Service is a Specialist Homelessness Service (SHS) who has the expertise to implement a range of therapeutic trauma informed practice approaches to women and children experiencing domestic violence through service delivery within different environments, i.e. within a crisis refuge, transitional housing, rapid rehousing, or within the home of the client with the perpetrator removed.
Your role as the DFV Practitioner providing direct service provision to women who are victim survivors of DFV. You will work independently and as part of a specialist team providing clinical therapeutic and complex case response supporting families residing in a DFV Crisis Accommodation.
You will work in collaboration with the Senior DFV Practitioners and Manager DFV Services to support the achievement of organisational goals and maintains a positive culture within team.
Your Impact
- Provide therapeutic case management to women and children residing in DVSM Crisis Accommodation.
- Respond to client’s mental health, safety and wellbeing needs as identified.
- Facilitate therapeutic groupwork.
- Partake on a rotating roster on on-call response for DVSM services.
- Provide advocacy and trauma informed practise to support families who have experience DFV.
- Identify risk and conduct Safety Planning with women.
- Document in CIMS case notes and complete reports when required.
- Liaise with external agencies and key stakeholders.
What you'll bring to the role
- Bachelors degree Social Work/Psychology/Counselling/Psychotherapy is desirable.
- 2 years’ experience working directly with clients who have experienced DFV and/or homelessness.
- Demonstrated experience working in direct support roles in the DFV or welfare sector.
- Experience working in a team based environment.
- Valid Working with Children Check (WWCC).
- Valid First Aid Certification.
